Foals' Yannis Philippakis would prefer you steal his record than listen to it on Spotify

Add Yannis Philippakis to the growing list of musicians who really, really don't like Spotify.

Speaking to Channel 4 News in the UK, the Foals frontman said he would prefer people nicked his records on vinyl before they streamed them from the ever growing Internet service.

"I'd rather somebody stole the record on vinyl than bought it or streamed it on Spotify," he told Channel 4 News. "Because I think you should listen to music on vinyl, and I think basically anything's better than that (Spotify)."

He also addressed the issue of artist reimbursement "It's like going to a restaurant when the chef and all the waiting staff have worked their asses off, and you leave coppers as a tip, and you don't even pay the bill. That's basically what Spotify's like, I think."

Philippakis' comments come after Radiohead's Thom Yorke labelled the service "the last desperate fart of a dying corpse" and removed both the Atoms For Peace album he made with producer Nigel Godrich and his solo album 'The Eraser' from the Spotify archives.
