Watch: Metallica's weekend Antarctica gig




Metallica never have been too fond of doing things by the book, so if any band was going to be brave (or daft) enough to head into the frozen wastes of Antarctica to play a gig it makes sense that it was them.

This weekend the band , along with Coca Cola contest winners and a group of research scientists from Russia, South Korea, China, Poland, Chile, Brazil and Germany crammed themselves into a little dome at the Carlini Station on King George Island. Metallica then proceeded to play a ten song set, running through the classics; For Whom the Bell Tolls, Sad But True, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Master of Puppets, One, Blackened, Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman and more.

Back in from the cold the band shared a number of pictures on their Facebook page and one fan even managed to get some video footage which you can check out below too:
