Taylor Hawkins enlists fellow Foo Fighters Dave Grohl and Pat Smear for Birds of Satan side project

Even though the signs are good that Foo Fighters are working on a new album for 2014 Taylor Hawkins is pushing ahead with one of his side projects, Birds of Satan, as well, although it seems he has roped in Dave Grohl and Pat Smear to lend a bit of a hand.

Birds of Satan's official lineup consists of Hawkins and his former Chevy Metal bandmates, Wiley Hodgden and Mick Murphy. They will release their eponymous debut LP in April. According to reports Dave will feature on one of the tracks and in addition to Pat Smear Rami Jaffee and Drew Hester also make guest appearances.

Those concerned that all of this slowed down the work on a new FF album need not worry though, apparently the seven track work was recorded in less than a week.
