Tame Impala & 360 Leads APRA Awards Nominations




The prestigious 31st annual APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) Music Awards nominations have just been announced. Tame Impala get two nods in the Song Of The Year category with 'Elephant' and 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards'. Matthew Colwell AKA 360 has four nominations with two songs in the Urban Work Of The Year category, as well as Most Played Australian Work with his popular duet with Gossling and also Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year. Other writers receiving three nominations include  Guy Sebastian, Sia Furler and Timomatic. The always lovely Lanie Lane get two thumbs up in the Blues And Roots Work Of The Year.

APRA will also soon announce the winner of the Red Albert Award For Outstanding Services To Australian Music, which in the past has gone to Jimmy Little, triple j and Michael Chugg.

And finally, the MOST PERFORMED AUSTRALIAN WORK OVERSEAS will also be announced at the 2013 APRA Music Awards ceremony.

The 2013 APRA Music Awards will be hosted by Jonathan Biggins and Clare Bowditch and will feature special guests and live performances.

The APRA Music Awards will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on Monday the 17th of June 2013. MAX channel will screen a special on the event on Wednesday the 26th of June at 8pm, with encore presentations on Thursday the 27th of June at 9am and Monday the 1st of July at 6.30pm.
