Sunny Day Real Estate to release 'Lipton Witch', first new song in 14 years for Record Store Day

Sunny Day Real Estate have not released any new material since 2000, but that is about to change in honour of Record Store Day.

In 2009 the band's formative lineup, which included now Foo Fighters Nate Mendel and William Goldsmith along with frontman Jeremy Enigk attempted a reunion but according to Mendel "fell apart". One track did make it out of those unsuccessful sessions though and Lipton Witch will now be released as a limited edition 7" vinyl. It will also mark the first release with the original lineup since 1995’s LP2

The Sunny Day vinyl will be limited to just 2,500 copies. 100 of those will be clear and the remainder burgundy. The artwork was provided by Chris Thompson, who also created the cover art for the previous Sunny Day albums Diary and How It Feels To Be Something On.
