Spotify Survey Reveals Most Misheard Lyrics

A survey by music streaming service Spotify has revealed which songs are most commonly misheard in Australia.

Topping the list by a mile was 'Tiny Dancer' by Elton John, with nearly 20% of respondents thinking the chorus is "Hold me closer, Tony Danza".

Look around you. One in every five people in the room thinks that Elton John wrote a song about a washed-up 80s TV star.

ABBA and Eurythmics came next, with the lines "See that girl, watch her scream, kicking the dancing queen" and "Sweet dreams are made of cheese".

The special award for funniest misinterpretation goes to Jay-Z.

Over 10% of respondents reckon his 'Empire State Of Mind' contains the line "In New York, concrete jungle wet dream tomato".

Of course, there are no stats for how many respondents were taking the piss.

Is it really possible that one in ten Aussies are that deaf? Test yourself with the 'Empire State Of Mind' video here.
