Metallica Set to Rock Antarctica

Those poor penguins are not going to know what's hit them - Metallica are set to play a one off gig in Antarctica in December.

The concert, which is scheduled between December 2 and December 15, is a part of a promotion offered by the Columbia division of the Coca Cola corporation. In order to attend, fans have to mail in labels from their Coke Zero bottles to be entered into a raffle (isn't that nice and old fashioned?) with winners being drawn in November.

Not so long ago Lars Ulrich, speaking on a San Francisco radio station, had hinted that the group had something pretty special planned for December saying "There's another frontier heading in Metallica's direction in December. Which, if anybody (at the band's management) even knew that I just said what I just said, they would hunt me down and silence me. But there is another frontier coming in December, which we're very excited about." Ah-a, now we know what you were talking about.
