Melbourne Musicians Celebrate Football and Music at For The Jumper benefit gig

For The Jumper charity concert has been going for four years now at The Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood. Organised by singer-songwriter Emily Ulman, it is a true celebration of what makes Melbourne so unique and special. Music, football, beers and cheers, as well known Melbourne music identities don their favourite football team jumpers, as they play footy club theme songs and a tribute number.

They play their homage to their football team in the order of ladder, with the wooden spoon team starting first. All of the way, until a coin toss determines the final two top teams of the year. This year that means hometown heroes, the Richmond Tigers will play against the Adelaide Crows. As the MC, Stewart Farrell being such a diehard tigers supporters, he spent the whole night abusing every other football team. With some extra special venom going to this year's Brownlow Medal runner up and Geelong superstar, Patrick Dangerfield......hashtag....shitbagging.

Only Melbourne can host this sort of event, with it's fervent music loving community spirit where 20,000 music fans will turn up at a Save Live Australian Music (SLAM) rally and ‎23,000 people will attend the annual much-adored charity football match, The Reclink Community Cup. Tonight, it is all for a great cause too, with the money raised on the night, going towards Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency - VACCA.

Here are some of the names that appeared at this year's For The Jumper: Mark Monnone, Fraser Gorman, Liam Linley, Royce Akers, Emily Ulman, Lucy Dwyer, Jason Evans, Mick Thomas, Siobhan McGinnity, Kim White, Nik Kerton, Nic Imfeld, Jo Roberts, Liam McGorry, Kit Warhurst, Alex & Phil Gionfriddo Tom & Pugs Lyngcoln, Dan Luscombe, Mark Wilson, Jordan Barczak, Perrin Date, Cameron Stops, Patrick O'Neil, Dave Mudie, Ben Michell, Nick Cooper, Aaron Gocs, Bon Scott's son Dave Stevens and too many more to mention.
