Live music lineup for 2014 Australian Open announced




The musical program for the upcoming Australian Open has been announced and it will be headed up by Clare Bowditch and The Rubens

Also scheduled to perform over the course of the tournament are Snakadaktal, The Preatures, Saskwatch, British India, World’s End Press and Owl Eyes among others. All performances will be staged at 6pm every day on the Heineken Live Stage and are free to Open spectators.

The Mushroom group put together the varied lineup and their executive director, Matt Gudinski, is rather pleased with the job they did; “As Melburnians it’s exciting for us to see the best of music and sport combined – two things we love,” he said. “We’re especially proud to see the inclusion of so many great emerging bands like The Rubens, World’s End Press and The Preatures on the line-up, which says something both about the event’s support for local culture and also the thriving state of new Australian music.” You can check out the complete lineup and show dates below:
