Kevin Rudd Injects Money Into Live Music




Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has announced the Government will spend $560,000 over a period of three years on setting up a National Office for Live Music.

As part of the announcement, live music ambassadors have been nominated for each state:

VIC: Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans, Jebediah), NSW: Dave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus) and Stavros Yiannoukas (Bluejuice), WA: Kav Temperley (Eskimo Joe), SA: Matt Lambert (HIlltop Hoods), QLD: Katie Noonan, NT: Leah Flanagan, TAS: Dewayne Everett-Smith.

The Hoodoo Gurus' Dave Faulkner told Fairfax media: ''People gathering together, making and enjoying music is a spiritual experience as old as humanity itself. Music unites us all.''
