On Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of November, The Arts Centre in Melbourne will host two days of invaluable information about the Australian music industry at Face The Music.
Personally I have been involved with this two day information session since 2010, photographing and videoing almost every sessions.
For anybody interested in becoming a part of the Melbourne music industry, weather you are in a band, run a record label or just love aussie music, it is a must attend event.
This years lineup is really impressive. Legendary music producers extraordinaire (Nirvana, Pixies, The Jesus Lizard, The Breeders to name a few) and of course being a member of Shellac and other bands, Steve Albini will be the major keynote speaker.
Ross Wilson's popular '70's group, Daddy Cool will be interviewed before being inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall Of Fame. Grammy award winning Hiatus Kaitoye will be exploring the latest developments in digital music in her masterclass.
The endless list of local and international well known speakers include Henry Wagons, Mikelangelo, Charles Jenkins, Tom Larkin from Shihad, Wally "Meanie" Kempton, Kris Schroeder from The Basics, Pikelet, Brous, Stuart Grant from The Primitive Calculators. Kirin J Callinan and lots more. There are also numerous people from the music media, record labels, venue owners and bookers, radio station personalities and so forth.
