Frank Ocean Cancels Remaining Australian Shows Including Splendour

In a sudden shock announcement by Live Nation, Frank Ocean has cancelled all his Australian shows including his headlining set this Sunday at the Supertop stage at Splendour In The Grass.

In a email sent to The Dwarf:

Regrettably we can confirm that Frank Ocean’s remaining Australian shows have been cancelled. Media release to follow.

As it stands, if you were lucky to see his performance last night at Festival Hall in Melbourne, it will be his only Australian show on this tour. Tonight's Festival Hall show, as well as two Sydney sideshows at The Hordern Pavilion have also been cancelled.

We will update this story as soon as the official news comes to hand.

In the meantime, we will be "Thinkin Bout You" and we hope that Frank feels better soon and can perform his magic for his fans. Here is a great recent live performance from Saturday Night Live.

"After last night's concert in Melbourne at Festival Hall, it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show. It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal chords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice."

It is not possible to reschedule these dates but Live Nation is working on confirming new shows as soon they can. In the meantime, sad to announce that tonight's Festival Hall show and the two Sydney sideshows at Hordern Pavilion are cancelled. Ticket holders can obtain a full refund from their point of purchase.

The organisers at Splendour In The Grass have made the following statement:

“With Splendour already in full swing this is devastating news for the event and will be for many of our patrons. We do want to remind everyone that over 70 of the best acts in the world right now are still here and ready to go including our previously billed mystery band, Alt-J.”

Ticketmaster has made the following announcement about Splendour sideshow refunds:

For all tickets booked online or by phone, the credit card used in the booking will automatically be refunded. Please allow up to five days to receive your refund. If the original credit card you used for the purchase has been cancelled or no longer valid (eg: prepaid Visa / MasterCard), please contact us on 136 100 by 5pm on the 30th August 2013 to arrange a refund cheque.

Frank Ocean, Live Nation and Niche Productions apologise for any disappointment.
