Debbie Harry to Quit Blondie?

Blondie's swansong may be upon us, according to the band's drummer Clem Burke.

Burke recently revealed to the Daily Mail that discussions about the band's demise are taking place, with its legendary frontwoman, Debbie Harry, considering bringing the band to an end, after 40 years.

"Debbie is 11 years older than the rest of us, so it's on her mind," Burke recently said at an exhibition of paintings by the late Ian Dury at London's Royal College of Art.

"We've tried to keep it going for as long as possible, but it's not just up to me. Nothing is finalised yet," said the drummer.

According to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for Harry has stated: "They are in a hiatus at the moment. They will do some tour dates next year. Nothing is confirmed yet."

In July, Blondie completed a run of dates across the UK, and have some North American shows booked for September and October. The band are also set to release their new LP, 'Ghosts Of Download' sometime later this year.

Without Debbie Harry, does Blondie exist? Not a chance, so let's hope the Queen of Rock remains on her throne for a few more years to come.
