Daft Punk to perform at Grammys

Want a good reason to try and catch the Grammys? How about the fact that Daft Punk have agreed to actually perform instead of just show up and stand around being slightly weird?

The performance will be very first time that the Frenchmen have actually performed anything from their Grammy nominated album Random Access Memories. Grammy executive producer spoke about the coup with Rolling Stone; “Conversations took place over a period of a couple of months, and finally they agreed to be a part of this year’s telecast,” Ehrlich added. “Details of the performance are still being worked out, but the idea of having the exclusive television performance by this iconic band is something we’re very, very excited about.”

Erlich went on to say that the performance will be “a collaborative and celebratory stage performance that honors [Daft Punk's] multi-nominated music.” Daft Punk are nominated in the Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album categories for Random Access Memories and Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group performance categories for “Get Lucky”.

The last time that daft Punk played at the Grammys they shared the stage with Kanye West in 2008.
