Cat Power and Chris Martin team up to perform title track for Zach Braff's 'Wish I Was Here'

Aside from the charm of the film itself, one of the most memorable things about Zach Braff's 2004 directorial debut Garden State was the soundtrack he curated for it, which featured songs by The Shins, Simon & Garfunkel, and Coldplay. His sophomore effort, Wish I Was Here, which will debut in July seems to have a similarly impressive musical lineup, featuring original songs from The Shins and Bon Iver and a rather special collaboration that was not completed when the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Braff said; “We also have an original song sung by Cat Power, written by Chris Martin. It wasn’t ready yet for [Sundance]. It’s the title song of the movie. It’s one of the most amazing songs ever.”

'Wish I Was Here' was funded in part by a Kickstarter campaign and in addition to Braff himself stars Kate Hudson, Jim Parsons and James Avery.
