BRIT Awards 2014 : The Big Winners, Bowie, Lorde, Arctic Monkeys and more

The BRIT Awards have been handed out and for once when it comes to these award shows there were a few surprises.

Take, for instance, David Bowie. Up against some real young guns for the British Male Award in the form of Jake Bugg, John Newman, Tom Odell and James Blake the 67 year old beat out the lot of 'em.

Lorde adding to her ever growing trophy cabinet for International Female was less of a surprise but the fact that Arctic Monkeys beat out One Direction for British Group was a bit of a stunner for some. The prettiest band in the world did win a gong for British Video although we have to seriously question the advice that Louie Tomlinson gave to Justin Bieber though; "Keep on doing what you are doing", really Louis do you read the papers?
