Brian Johnson says AC/DC are ready to record and tour in 2014

Bruce Springsteen had been opening his Australian gigs with AC/DC's Highway to Hell over the last few dates, beginning in Perth as a specific tribute to Bon Scott and even had Eddie Vedder join in in Melbourne. However according to frontman Brian Johnson it should not be too long before the real deal is back onstage and showcasing a new album to boot.

Speaking to Florida radio host Andy Preston the car mad Johnson who was in town for the Palm Beach Grand Prix said; “One of our boys was pretty ill, so we didn't like to say anything and we’re very private about things like this… But I think we’ll be going into the studio in May in Vancouver. Which means, we should be getting ready.” Just who had been ill was something he declined to reveal.

After that they then have plans to get out on the road; “I think we’re gonna try to do 40 gigs, 40 shows, to thank the fans for their undying loyalty". 40 being a good number of course as 2014 marks 40 years the founding of the group. If and when they do tour it will be for the first time four years.

And by the way, he may be 66 now but Brian wasn't at the Grand Prix to watch the cars go round, he was there to race...
