Are Foo Fighters studio hopping as they record their new album?

They already made it clear that for the first part of 2014 Foo Fighters would be concentrating their efforts on recording a new album, but it seems that they are turning the process into a busier than usual affair, recording in multiple studios with several producers - a trick Dave Grohl may have picked up from Paul McCartney

Although the band have confirmed nothing Reddit sleuths tracked down the post above that suggests that the band have indeed been hopping around all over the place and the Twitter post below offers more proof:

Where does the McCartney connection come in? Apart from the fact that along with Pat Smear and Kris Novoselic the pair recently won a Grammy for Cut me Some Slack when McCartney recorded his last album Yes he used no less than four mega producers;  Giles Martin, Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Paul Epworth and recorded in studios in the UK and the US.
