Musician, performance artist, writer, goddess, burlesque sensation, lead singer of The Dresden Dolls and part time Melbourne loving resident, Amanda Palmer, has just announced a lightning book tour for her latest inspirational opus titled The Art of Asking, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help.
She has already been announced as a part of MONA FOMA, where she will be performing a 90 minute set with dapper bassist and arranger of the Grand Theft Orchestra, Jherek Bischoff. This is the fourth time that Amanda has been a part of MONA FOMA lineup.
This book tour is a different kettle of fish. This is a evening of music, discussion, readings for her book and a Q & A. There will be a book signing and show at The Metro in Sydney with literary genius and husband, Neil Gaiman and extra special guest Tara Moss. Then it is off to Melbourne, for another book signing at The Thornbury Theatre.
As Amanda states, "if you missed the memo (or haven't read the book yet), I wrote the bulk of the book in Melbourne, in different cafes and bars in Collingwood and the CBD (they're mostly thanked in the back of the book, but shout outs to Grub Van, Atomica, Polly, Arcadia and Thousand Pound Bend....).
