Adelaide City Council Approves Site For BDO 2014

Big Day Out Adelaide has found a new home for the 2014 event with the local council approving an application for Bonython Park to host the likes of Pearl Jam, Blur and Snoop Lion when the national event makes its way to the South Australian capital.

Organisers have been searching for a new location for the Adelaide leg after deciding to move on from previous home of the Wayville Showgrounds and have been made to sweat awaiting the council's decision.

The Wayville Showgrounds has hosted the Adelaide Big Day Out since 1993 but the move to Bonython Park will mean an extra 15,000 South Aussie music fans will be able to attend.

The move isn't without it's detractors with concerns surrounding the impact of the event on the park as well as noise complaints. The Adelaide City Council has however assured locals that measures will be taken to address these issues.

Adelaide isn't the only Big Day Out destination to have a venue change. Gold Coast and Auckland have both found new homes for the 2014 event with Metricon Stadium and Western Spring Stadium joining the family.

Adelaide Big Day Out will take place on January 31st, 2014.
