The Scientists Announce New Album and Shows!

Without the chance to put a post modern, post eighties, post nineties post ANYTHING spin on their sound, seminal underground Australian band the SCIENTISTS are BACK!!

Like just adding water…no… more like cracking open the iceberg to let out the ‘80s MONSTER released from its two decades of suspended animation. The dark and hideous throb is back!

Not just in a temporary form of the band having some reunion shows either. Nooooh, you don't get off that easy! This time there is a new album - Sedition- recorded live last year at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London during the band's UK only reunion tour. After a break of almost two decades (ok ..they did three songs in the 2002 Sydney reunion for the more pedantic among you) Kim, Boris, Tony and Leanne grouped together from their different parts of the world, had two rehearsals, played two dates in London and one at the prestigious, Mudhoney curated UK Festival, ‘All Tomorrows Parties'. Crowd favourites like 'When Fate Deals its Mortal Blow', 'We Had Love' and 'Swampland' were captured and are heard here for the first time in all their live gore and glory! Forget your bootlegs from back in the day …. this is better!

To celebrate the album's release, The Scientists will again regroup for just two Australian shows over the Easter weekend in April. These shows directly precede a two week stint in Europe starting at the Noise On Tour Rocks Festival in Bilbao on Friday 13th March and finishing at this year's (Dirty Three-curated) All Tomorrows Parties festival in the UK on the final weekend of April. Tickets for both shows are on sale Thursday 15th March. The Scientists April Dates

Saturday, April 8th - The Annandale Hotel - Sydney Sunday, April 9th - The Gershwin Room, Esplanade Hotel - Melbourne

SEDITION - the SCIENTISTS live! is released locally via ATP/Remote Control on April 9th.
