Community Cup founder Jason Evans chats with Anthony 'DJ ALBO' Albanese

You might know him as the Federal Member for Grayndler, the Honourable Anthony Albanese but in the Aussie music scene he is becoming well known as the greatest DJ this side of the left, DJ ALBO.

It all started in 2013 when he hosted the iconic music TV show on ABC, RAGE with an eyebrow raising impressive playlist that included music videos by The Saints, The Pixies, Laughing Clowns, Teenage Fanclub, The Triffids, Joy Division, Nick Cave and The Go-Betweens.

Since then he has performed ALP Fundraisers in Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as a DJ set at the music festival for Sydney’s FBI Radio. Last year DJ ALBO performed at the Reclink Community Cup footy match in Sydney between the Western Walers and Sydney Sailors.

This year it is Melbourne's turn to see the DJ ALBO magic in action with a fundraiser at The Corner Hotel for Reclink Australia.

The Reclink Community Cup founder, Jason "Evo" Evans has a chat with DJ ALBO about the Community Cup, Football in Melbourne and Sydney and Australian music.

DJ ALBO talks about that viral video where he was filmed skolling a beer in the football changing room at The Community Cup last year, with an enthusiastic loud cheers from all of the Rockdogs.

There has been an online poll on the Facebook event's page which has asked the key question of which Melbourne band should DJ ALBO play at his forthcoming set at The Corner Hotel.

Well the results are in and their is an overwhelming landslide victory for the balaclava-clad seven-piece outfit, This Is Serious Mum aka TISM.

A bunch of hardcore This Is Serious Mum fans (known as TISM tragics) come along to hang out with DJ ALBO before his Corner Hotel DJ Set.

If you missed it, The Rockdogs have released a rousing cover of This Is Serious Mum (TISM) 'Whatareya?'. Originally performed live at The Rockdog's Pie Night fundraiser last year at The Cherry Bar, the band are asking you which side are you on? "Whatareya? A dog or a mega?".

Come along on the 22nd of June to see DJ ALBO spin the decks at The Corner Hotel for this fundraiser for Reclink Australia. As a special bonus, Tim Roger's new outfit, The Draught Dodgers will be performing, as well one of Melbourne best dance floor fillers, DJ Mermaid.

Check out Evo having a chat with Tim Rogers about the Community Cup and his new band.
