Anthony Albanese sings Hawks Footy Song

Well it is not everyday that you get to see a politician let loose at the concert and sing a song on stage with such gusto. Last night there was a benefit concert called "For The Jumper" with all proceeds going to The Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

Bringing his Hawke-like A game, Labor MP Anthony Albanese and avid Hawthorn supporter, let it fly singing the Hawthorn Football Club Theme Song with a band combining the mega talents of Nicholas Imfeld, Pete Dickinson, Pugs Lyngcoln, Noah Wilson and Al Montfort.

SING A LONG!

"We're a happy team at Hawthorn
We're the Mighty Fighting Hawks.
We love our Club, and we play to win,
Riding the bumps with a grin (at Hawthorn).
Come what may, you'll find us striving
Team work is the thing that talks,
One for all and all for one
Is the way we play at Hawthorn.
We are the Mighty Fighting Hawks."

The other highlights of the night include a rousing rendition of the punk classic by The Saints "This Perfect Day" featuring Dan Sultan on guitar and Tex Perkins on vocals, while wearing St Kilda football guernsey.

A brilliant version featuring Nick Cooper and Emily Ulman performing the Iggy and The Stooges classic, "I Wanna Be Your Dog", while rooting for the Doggies aka Western Bulldogs.

Women up front of the crowd were awestruck, when the Kangas favourite son, Mr Tim Rogers of You Am I fame kicked out a heartwarming rendition of Journey's 80's megahit, "Don't Stop Believin'".

Watch The Community Cup founder and all round legend, Jason 'Evo' Evans rip up a song called '2541' by Grant Hart (singer and drummer for Husker Du), while representing the Gold Coast Suns.

Who expected to see Jarrad Brown of Eagle and the Worm fame, busting out that ol' earworm by Sheryl Crow with a cover of "All I Wanna Do"? It all made perfect sense since they were supporting the Adelaide Crows with a Sheryl Crow song. You can't argue that they certainly....had some fun!

Did anybody ever come up to, and wanted to know what the Collingwood Footy Theme song sung in Japanese would be like? Well today is your lucky day!
