Queen add additional dates to Australian tour and Brian May reveals details of a new album..featuring Freddie Mercury

The tickets for the Queen and Adam Lambert tour go onsale to the general public today at 10am. Given the buzz that has already been built up about the gigs new Melbourne and Sydney shows have been added to the schedule already and tickets for these new dates will also be available when the sales go live.

The newly added dates are August 27 at the Allphones Arena, Sydney and August 30 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. This brings the total number of dates the band will play in Australia to six. Tickets to all of the shows will be offered via premier.ticketek.com.au/

This announcement accompanies another big Queen related reveal; the confirmation of the release of an album featuring previously unheard tracks featuring the late, great Freddie Mercury

Brian May made the announcement during an interview with BBC Radio. He had been scheduled to appear to talk about his new book, a tome about 19th century French stereoscopic cards called Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures in Hell.

When the conversation swung around to what May's personal favorite might be in the band's own vast catalogue he said; "my favorite at the moment is 'Made in Heaven,' which was never a single but it's the title track off the 1995 album we made after Freddie was gone with all the pieces that were left. I've just been doing something very similar because we found a few more tracks with Freddie singing and all of us playing and they're quite beautiful. People will be hearing this work toward the end of the year."

After casually slipping that bombshell in, Brian said the album will probably be titled Queen Forever and that "it's a compilation but it will have this new material on which nobody in the world has ever heard and I think people will really enjoy it".
