Julian Casablancas to debut solo album in September, will record with The Strokes again

Beginning with the very urm, interesting, performance at SXSW Julian Casablancas has been teasing his new solo album for several weeks now, even releasing an eight minute 'behind the scenes' video that you can watch below. If however fans were expecting that the long player would be debuting any time soon they are in for a bit of a disappointment.

In an interview with Mexico’s La Tercera Casablancas explains that his original plan to debut the record early in the year has been scrapped and he is now shooting for sometime in September;
“There are 45 different things that I’d like to do,” going on to explain that because “I do not like hearing the same genre for three songs in a row,” you will hear influences from the likes of Sébastien Tellier to Black Flag and even a song of the Congo.

As for The Strokes, who do have a one off date to play The Governor's Ball in New York in June, they are sort of still together Julian says; “We’re trying to carry on as friends, taking it easy, recording a couple of songs, and do a couple of shows.”
