Are Jack White and Neil Young about to release a covers album?

A couple of weeks ago we told you the during a fan Q & A on Redditt he revealed he was in the middle of finishing production on two albums, one of which he let slip was his own. The other, according to music journalist Michael Goldberg may be pretty damn exciting as well; a covers LP with Neil Young.

The rumours about this album actually began before Christmas, in the form of posts on the Neil Young fan site Thrashers Wheat. You could also give further validity to the idea by noting that Young showed up to the Third Man Records recording booth in Nashville on Record Store Day 2013 and laid down a cover of Bert Jansch’s 'Needle of Death' (Third Man being Jack White's record label)

According to Goldberg, which might be released via Third Man and Warner Bros, Young's usual label may include covers of Ivory Joe Hunter’s 'Since I Met You Baby', Phil Ochs’ 'Changes', Tim Hardin’s 'Reason To Believe', Bob Dylan’s 'Blowin’ in the Wind' and Gordon Lightfoot’s 'Early Morning Rain', although that speculation may just be from the fact that Young has performed all of those tracks on the live circuit recently.

Neither party's reps have made a comment on the speculation yet.
