James Blake wins Mercury Prize for 'Overgrown'

Up against some serious competition James Blakehas been announced as the winner of this year's UK Mercury Prize for his sophomore album 'Overgrown.

Blake was up against the likes of 'David Bowie, The Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Laura Marling, Jon Hopkins, Disclosure, Laura Marling and Savages.

In addition to the big bragging rights and a ton of new press coverage for his work Blake was awarded £20,000.

The Mercury Prize winner is chosen by a panel of music execs, journos and other musicians and is open to any UK or Ireland musician.
