Kill The Matador shows in Hobart and Launceston.

Melbourne punk rock four piece Kill The Matador will be in Tasmania this weekend, playing a bunch of shows across the state. Having recently released their debut album The Mannequin Citizen on Hook Turn Records, the band have embarked on an Australian tour that has seen them play one show in Sydney and several in Queensland, with Tasmanian and Western Australian dates still to come.

The Mannequin Citizen features nine of the band’s punk rock songs, recorded at Three Phases Studios in Melbourne. Interestingly, the band released the album on blue or black vinyl and digitally, making them one of the only bands I’ve seen in a while completely forgo making CDs altogether. The shape of things to come? Who knows.

Kill the Matador will be playing at The Brisbane Hotel tonight as part of Damage, alongside Hobart punk rock band Ride The Tiger, ska punk group Phat Meegz and hardcore punk band Speech Patterns.

They will also be playing at The Gunners Arms in Launceston on Saturday night, with punk rockers Luca Brasi and folk punk band The Stayns.

Both Shows are 18+, doors open at 8pm.
