Camera Obscura releasing new album

Camera Obscura will be releasing their new album, Desire Lines, on Friday May 31.

It was at a charity fundraiser in Glasgow, their hometown, that they announced their new effort. They took this opportunity to warm up for SXSW by playing some new songs for their fans.

They recorded the album in Portland last December with the help of Grammy-nominated producer Tucker Martine.

Talking about their new album, band member Tracyanne Campbell said: "Of all our records this was pretty much the most challenging to write, partly because of the situation we found ourselves in with having to take such a long and uncertain amount of time out, but also because it would be record number five and we were getting harder and harder to please."

Desire Lines will be released via 4AD/Remote Control.
