Big Scary Embark On Headline Tour

Big Scary Embark On Headline Tour

This April, Melbourne duo Tom Iansek and Jo Syme will embark in on their first headline tour since early last year.

The tour will promote their latest song ‘Phil Collins’ off the new album Not Art, expected to be released in winter.

To aid in creating the fuller sound that features on their upcoming album, the duo will become a trio for the upcoming tour. The additional musician will add a new vigour to the band Iansek said: “The newer songs really require someone extra to do them justice. Some, not all of our old songs will also be given a new energy with a third part.”

Fans may hear a new side of the alternative indie band on this tour as the new album has taken a sonic direction this time.

Produced almost exclusively by Iansek, the singer and guitarist spoke of the main influences behind the album: “There are a bunch of influences which led us to the sound for Not Art, but the main spark was discovering elements of hip-hop production and applying it to what is essentially pop music.”
