Mos Def's Australian shows cancelled, Talib Kweli replaces him for Soundscape

Mos Def's first two shows of his 2011 Australian Tour have been cancelled including his Sydney show at the Enmore Theatre and his Soundscape Festival appearance. Due to unforeseen circumstances and commitments that have arisen at the eleventh hour, Mos Def is unable to make it to Australia in time for his first two Australian dates.


Talib Kweli will be appearing in place of Mos Def for the Soundscape Festival. After hearing of Mos Def's dilemma, good friend and collaborator Talib Kweli insisted that he cover Mos Def's Soundscape commitments. Talib Kweli will perform hits from his solo career and Black Star classics.


Talib Kweli and Mos Def joined forces in 1998 and released one hip-hop's most highly regarded album, Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star. Performing as Black Star, Talib Kweli and Mos Def were rocketed in to musical stardom.


His latest album Revolutions Per Minute was one of the most highly anticipated hip-hop albums of 2010. It dropped to critical acclaim, with a brand of hip-hop that hasn't been seen in years. With impeccable production and lyrical grace Kweli's latest album is sure to be instilled in hip-hop lore.
