Augie March have spent the past 18 months or so variously writing and recording a new album, touring North America repeatedly, supporting the mighty Crowded House on their comeback run, playing the odd festival show and continuing to receive high praise for their previous long-player, amongst other things. However, one thing they have not done in that time is undertake a proper headline tour of their homeland. Much to the palpable joy of their ardent army of fans, that is a situation that is now rectified.

The Watch Me Disappear Tour hits the cities for a series of shows that will feature material from that so-named forthcoming album, Watch Me Disappear. In the words of singer-songwriter Glenn Richards, it’s the best bunch of songs to date, which is saying something.

The shows will also feature material from the band’s impressive decade-plus-deep catalogue.

The title track of the new album made its way into the cyber world last week to a vast blur of download activity and blog-love. The first single Pennywhistle will be serviced to Australian media September 18th and will be available as a digital download September 16th and in store September 27th.

Watch Me Disappear – the album, is the follow up release to their platinum selling, AMP and APRA Award winning LP Moo, You Bloody Choir, and is out in Australia on October 11th 2008.

Fabulously gifted and charming Melbourne raconteur Dan Kelly will join the Augies on the road with current outfit The Ukeladies, who perhaps require no explanation as to their make-up. Get there early for a very entertaining night.

Tickets are on sale September 11th through various outlets and www.augiemarch.com. The first Augie March headline run in a year and a half - Watch Tickets Disappear.

Pennywhistle will be available as a digital download September 16th and in store September 27th, 2008 through SonyBMG.

Watch Me Disappear will be in store October 11th, 2008 through SonyBMG.
