Australian pop rock band KISSCHASY is about to kick off the national “Bones & Skin” Tour before heading to the United States to tour in support of their first US release.
On the back of sell out shows in last year’s Hymns For The Nonbeliever tour and standout performances at music festivals across the country, Kisschasy will be performing at larger venues, including Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and Melbourne’s Palace (the old Metro) with its longest live set ever.
“It’s going to be the biggest shows we’ve done. Everything is going to be more exciting than ever before,” says Kisschasy’s front man Darren Cordeux.
The “Bones & Skin” Tour, will be supported by the successful, smart, savvy, and sexy American Rock n’ Roll Machine The Donnas. Making their first trip back to Australia since 2005 when they toured on the Big Day out, they are armed with a brand new album Bitchin’ for your aural pleasure. Joining this rock ‘n’ roll juggernaut is Melbourne’s exciting new rock act The Getaway Plan, whose debut album Other Voices, Other Rooms, debuted at an impressive No 14 on the Aria charts, with their second single Where the City Meets the Sea, getting plenty of airplay, ensuring you keep a close eye on these guys as a big year lies ahead.
The show will mark the end of an era for Kisschasy, who have enjoyed overwhelming success throughout 2007.
“The other reason this tour will be so exciting for us it will be the last one for a while in Australia. It is the end of an era, the end of this album,” Cordeux says.
The band will tour the US in the second half of the year. Hymns For The Nonbeliever will be released in the US through a joint venture between Below Par Records and prominent US record label Pat’s Record Company (headed by Pat Magnarella who also manages Greenday, All American Rejects and Goo Goo Dolls). The record will be distributed by Fontana.
“When we go over there we’ll be starting over again, working from the grass roots up. It’ll be a humbling experience for us. We’ll be sleeping in a van a few nights a week. Nobody will know who we are at all.”
As well as performing hits singles from Hymns For The Nonbeliever, the “Bones & Skin” Tour will feature songs the band has never performed live and hits from their first album United Paper People.
“We will be playing a lot of old songs, and putting a different twist on them. This will be good for a lot of our old fans,” Cordeux says.
Cordeux has started writing lyrics for Kisschasy’s next album, which the band plans to release next year.
