In Sydney's first homeland security tour experience opening band Peabody started the night of with their pop rock style. Cog attracted more than double the crowd Peabody managed and didn't upset, within the opening song 'Doors' the moshers were already fired up. With their unique melodic music the crowed stared in amazement of the impressiveness of a band not well known to the common rock fan. Flynn Gower (lead vocals/guitar) managed the time well enough to include his thoughts and opinions on the injustice directed to Osama Bin Laden by the U.S Government. Their performance was solid and their final song 'My Enemy' blew everyone's mind away, Their performed was referred to as an 'Aural Orgasm' but one satisfied fan. This band obviously has potential to succeed due to there determination aggression and focus placed on hitting every single note just right. This band is one that should be looked out for in the future.
After a short break kiwi band Shihad took to the stage, from beginning to end with every song the crowd stared in awe at the explosiveness this band could produce. Such songs as 'Empty Shell' (from which guitarist Jon Toogood played in the crowd), 'My Mind's Sedate' and 'All the young Fascists' could be described as pure rock and roll. Shihad's front runner Jon Toogood (lead guitar/vocals) kept the crowd pumped with his energetic and eccentric stage behavior, in 'The General Electric' he climbed on top of
a speaker some 4 or 5 metres from the ground. Karl Kippenberger (Bass) and Phil Knight (Lead Guitar) like Jon kept the ambiance intense with constant solo's on top of speakers. Tom Larkin (Drums) kept the show rolling keeping his fellow band members in time with an awesome performance. Three times Jon
said "Thank you so fucking much, this is our last song'' however after the encore the band played enough three songs to the audiences satisfaction. The final song 'Run' was mind-blowing and was an appropriate end to a great show.
