Music News
Saturday, July 15 2006 @ Arena Entertainment Complex, Fortitude Valley

On the dark and stormy night of Saturday, July 15th, Brisbanites from all over gathered to the Arena, in Fortitude Valley, to witness the sold out show of The Butterfly Effect, who’d come to slay the people of Brisbane with their blood pumping sound, during their 'IMAGO' tour!

The two level venue was packed solid with the two bar areas and sufficient floor space that was rocking solidly. For those prone to a little claustrophobia, the wrap around balcony option was the way with its aerial views and slightly better breathing space.

The entire line-up at the Arena on Saturday night was from Brisbane, and you could tell all the band’s and the crowd were totally proud of that, and verbal dialogue on stage only cranked the audience adrenaline rush with classic rock compliments like, ‘ You guys are the best audience, it’s fucking great’, ‘Yeah you rock’, the crowd responded whole heartedly.

Repeat Offender ventured into the Butterfly realm as one of the support acts. Teasing the crowd, the Repeat boys tested the heat and vibe of the crowd with comments like, ' I dunno if you guys are ready for Butterfly Effect yet, we might need to pump you up a bit more’.

When Butterfly Effect started I could hear the lead singer (Clint Boge) but I couldn’t see him, its because he wasn’t quite onstage making his way onto stage via the wall of three massive amps stacked on top of each other, reminiscent of a Bella Le Gouse creature classic castle.

The gig rocked with a strong and solid sound that is a little bit heavy rock and a little bit alternative, and its easy to get lost in that kind of music, the way they perform it anyway.

The guys prowled the stage like they were fuelled with nitro, playing hits such as a their very popular single, ‘a slow decent‘. The atmosphere was bliss with not only the combination of a tight and rocking band but also the light show, which just enhances the experience, plus it’s entertaining to see. The crowd were so into Butterfly Effect, most people were either fully screaming and head banging or they were singing and dancing .The audience reaction was good to say the least.

Butterfly effect play a gig of high quality and I left feeling thoroughly charged.

If your in your Brisbane on October 1st go and check out Butterfly Effect, They will be performing at Q.U.T’s Gardens Point campus, Its most definitely worth it.
