Angelas Dish

Angelas Dish have been extremely busy of late touring the country a lot this last year, ‘We hope to finish recording our first album and get that released.. then tour, tour and tour all this coming year’, explains Joshua Harris (Lead guitar/backing vocals).

‘I think over all we love touring. Getting to go somewhere you’ve never been in your life & possibly never go again & play your own music is a privilege. One down side is a lot of relationships do break down over time… time’s the one thing you cant really make up for if your away for ¾ of the year.’

Now I’m sure I am not the only one who is wondering how did these guys come up with the name ‘Angelas Dish’ – I had to ask. ‘In actual fact it came from a girl that use to babysit Mick & I... her name was Angela and from what I remember she was hot and made a killer chicken dish’. Mick & I started writing songs together at home, problem was we weren’t in the same band but we really loved the songs… so we decided to can our old bands & find the best drummer & bass player we could.’

The band recently supported Something with numbers on there national tour end of last year. ‘It was a really cool tour to be apart of. The Something with Numbers boys were rad to us, they always lent us musical gear & helped out when we needed a hand. One highlight was playing a sold out show at the Annandale hotel in Sydney. It was one of the first shows of the tour & it went off! The place was out of control – a perfect way to start. But - the most memorable was Benny k from band Fifty Six. We were in Tasmania at the James hotel - Fifty Six were playing & out of nowhere Benny’s leg snapped! He was determined to finish the set so we got a stool on stage & he somehow played the rest of the set before the ambulance came and dragged him off… it was very rock’n’roll!’

Joshua recalls his three stand out shows so far -

1. ‘Supporting Jimmy Eat World at the metro in Sydney. That was diffidently a highlight.’
2. ‘Our own show in Narara at home was a lot of fun – so good to see our friends & have them support.’
3. ‘Festivals – we’ve played Soundwave, Bay Beats (Singapore) and Come together. They were all amazing and we had a great time.’

Angelas Dish get their influences from a lot of great rock bands that are touring and making albums today - Bands such as U2, the Goo Goo Dolls and Oasis. ‘I would personally love to tour with the Goo goo dolls.. I know I would enjoy watching them on tour every night.’

‘One of the best things about being in this band is getting out and meeting new people in different states and having something in common. Music is very cool like that.’

As for the bands hopes and dreams for the future – ‘we would love to have a successful album and be able to tour our own shows - here and overseas.’
