Ancient Free Gardeners - Innards Out (Single)
Melbourne indie-rock quartet Ancient Free Gardeners release their brand new single, Innards Out. It’s free and is released under the Creative Commons license, coming with an open invitation to remix, mash-up, cover or do whatever you like with it, providing it doesn't make you money and you give credit where credit is due.
The band has been evolving since 2006 around a growing collection of artistic, folkish indie-rock tunes penned and sung by James Milsom. The vocals are fairly unique, slightly hoarse and regularly emit a pleasing warmth that’s not entirely evident initially. All throughout the song, the instrumentation holds it's nerve expertly breaking into free flowing melody precisely when the mood set by the vocals dictates.
Debuting in 2007 with a self-titled independent EP, the Ancient Free Gardeners have released two single selections thus far, attracting airplay on Triple J as well as strong national and international community radio support. Keep your ears open for the full length album slotted for release in 2008, it should be an artillery of songware as varied as Ikea's range.
A quartet from Melbourne, these gents don't share the secrecy of their namesake society. It's all laid out, and the bare human condition awaits your inspection. Go visit their website and legally download their latest single, Innards Out, absolutely free.
