This is an interesting little compilation. Peak Plasma Records, it would appear, have picked the best songs of some of their relatively unknown artists and packaged it into a compilation album, and it works.
The overall vibe of the album is a little grungy and a little stoner rock. It is refreshingly under produced, leaving that live recording feel – something that not enough bands try these days.
The opening track, ‘lover’ by Triskelion, is a highlight, as is both of tracks by ‘The Shakes’. This is essentially a promotion album for the bands on the record, but it’s a good way to hear new talent, of which PP records certainly houses some.
