One X

I got this album in the mail last week and have been listening to it on and off ever since, however I must say I am a little disappointed in it. Even though there are moment’s of brilliance, it is an average album by a band who I think could do a lot better.

The first song 'It’s All Over' is one of the better off the album. The vocals really make this song, while the guitar isn’t to fancy it proves to be a good solid opener.

'Pain' is the next track and it doesn’t really do that much for me. The backing vocals of “Pain” during the chorus helps with the frustration, getting really annoying after only a few listens.

After Pain comes my favourite song on the album. 'Animal I Have Become' is the first single and by far the best number. Catchy bass riff start off, followed by guitar and drums, then vocals. The chorus “So what if you can see, the dark inside of me, no one would ever change this animal I have become” is infectious and makes me want to sing along.

Track 4 and we go into acoustic guitar verses and blasting choruses. 'Never Too Late' reminds me of their last album in many ways and is a good listen.

'On My Own' is pretty weak but as soon as it gets to the chorus it makes up for what it lacked in the verses.

'Riot' is another good song on the album. “Lets Start a Riot” is the message in this song. It’s about not being treated right and rising up against it.

'Get Out Alive' is the last really good song on the album and has beautiful guitar and vocals which makes it one of the best on the album.

'Let It Die', 'Over And Over', 'Time Of Dying' and 'Gone Forever' are all ok songs but I really cant get into them at all.

The last track 'One X', the title track for the album, is nothing new but is a nice solid finishing song. I dig the end of the song with the chant “Stand Above The Crowd”

Over all I think it’s an average album and they could have done better, but I still recommend you check it out, if only for a couple of the songs.
