Angelas Dish - My Body is an Ashtray (EP)
» Boomtown take their Showdown out on tour! - August 2, 2006
The title of this, Angelas Dish’s second EP, doesn’t do much to inspire. One would think this is an EP from a band whose sole purpose is the propagation of self-loathing. Well I am pleased to say I am wrong! That’s what I love about listening to music from bands you have yet to experience. What’s the old adage? Never judge an EP by its cover? Well close enough.
This quartet of good-looking guys from the Central Coast of NSW released their first EP “Lie Die” in 2005. After much touring and gigging the boys deliver “My Body is an Ashtray”. This 4-track EP is a great listen, containing simple songs that are catchy in their passion, emotion and melodious Rock approach. This is just a taste of what is to come from the hearts and minds of Angelas Dish, with my favourite track being “My Screaming Heart”.
Did you ever hear a band live and decide to get their CD from the merch stand? I have done it many a time and the love of the live sound has always been multiplied by the recorded sound. This is a band I am eager to hear live. Their latest EP has grabbed me and whet my appetite, making me want more. I have always been of the opinion that if a band sound this good on CD then imagine a live performance. If you like Australian Pop / Rock then do yourself a favour and check these guys out.
