Fat Joe - Me, Myself, I (Album)
Gotta love a CD whose first lyric is “Fuck you.” As I was still laughing at that, Fat Joe’s next lyric continues, “Fuck everybody.” Well to be honest not even Annabel Chong could do that Fat Joe. This is Gangsta Rap and if you thought that means bitches and hos and the “n” word featuring in the lyrics, you are right. But hey, hang on, Fat Joe mentions Iraq, Africa in crisis, Hurricane Katrina…wow Gangsta Rap can address issues, see? “This goes out to all the niggers.” Inspirational stuff.
However I continued to find this CD and its sentiments laughable. The only listenable track is “Breathe and Stop” and that’s only because it samples Bob Marley’s “War.” There is another stand out, “Bitch”, a lovely misogynist ditty to play for all the ladies in your family. It’s all about a 16 year old who’s “nothing” and only good when she gives head. She has no name but Fat Joe manages to send her in the kitchen while he’s off to see his other bitch but no-name understands according to Fat Joe.
And I understand as well Fat Joe, you’re a little bit short on ideas and huge on clichés. No wonder your CD is called Me, Myself and I, you’ve managed to isolate everyone but yourself Fat Joe. So here’s something to inspire some creativity for the next CD if you make it there - a message from no-name: “Fuck you too.”
