Foo Fighters - Live at Wembley Stadium (DVD)
» Foo Fighters April/May Australian Tour announced! - November 25, 2007
We all know who the Foo Fighters are. They're just another rock band (there's so many of them) but somehow they manage to punch on through all the bullshit.
I've seen these guys live a number of times and they've never failed to disappoint and surprisingly seem to get better as the year's roll on.
This DVD, filmed over 2 nights at Wembley Stadium captures the energy of the Foo Fighters beautifully. Dave Grohl is at his best and clearly enjoys what he does now, playing to stadiums as he did as i'd see them back in the mid nineties.
I could crap on about the high production values blah blah blah but it's what you'd expect from a big budget / major label exercise.
It's a big show, big sound, big stage, big lights. Foo Fighters are firing. Page and Plant from Zeppelin get onstage for a couple of Zeppelin tracks - huge moment. What more could you want? How about classic Fooies tracks like the rock balladry of Everlong? How about that unstoppable party song Monkey Wrench? How about the singalong favourite Learn To Fly? And you can't go past closer Best of You, oh, you just can't.
Put it on the big screen. Turn off the lights. Turn it up loud.
