With this self-tited release Kora have are streets ahead in the Dub Reggae field. The album has really set a benchmark, the production is mixed perfectly and the great deep bass sound vibrates through your feet all the way through your body that it resonates into your stomach and leaves an impressive stamp on your mind.

The song Skankenstein, steps into the Drum and Bass camp and with its fat grooves. It will bust your eardrums and blow your speaker’s when it gets cranked in your car stereo. Time is a bit of let down I think it suffers from over production it sounds a bit too manufactured and contrived. The next track On my Mind is slightly muted and has a manic laugh half way through which adds to the eccentric sound that is prominent through out the album.

Down the Road immediately sounds like Chemical Brothers or the Crystal Method but a more hollow deep groove sound going on as it continues it melds into a disco sounds and the end then it just sort of Peter’s out and bluntly finishes it sounds a little unfinished to me.

Kora have made album that is a worthy addition to any fan that digs the grooves of the Black Seeds or Salmonella Dub but also likes the modern grooves of New Zealand R'n'b.
