Lior - Heal Me

Lior's song 'Heal Me' is filled with sentiment "So no more dragging each other through the mud then keeping score for much too long." He manages to capture the perfect balance between classical strings and his unique Bedouin style. The instruments in this song really draw the listener to the underlying message.

The strings add a dark and looming element, which comes together to make a perfect fit. The word perfect shouldn't be used too much, but when it's Lior the use is appropriate. "Why do we turn our backs on each other.... We can't heal our wounds so we bleed in the dark." This type of honest songwriting can make us smile and cry, so talented is he. Lior knows just how to structure a song to draw things out of it. There should be so much more of this music with real soul around - but there isn't and that's one of the reasons Lior really stands out.

The music seems to ache and Lior's vocals really add to the mix. I was lucky enough to see him perform this song live at the spiegeltent a few weeks ago, and that was the perfect setting for it. Lior (and new melbourne resident) can really sing. His range is incredible. Lior is a huge talent and he really should be a lot bigger than he already is.

The single also features the previously unreleased song 'Take The Sting Out' -another clever song, and an alternate version of 'Heal Me' which is much simpler and lets the piano speak stronger. All together this makes a great listen and a welcome buy.
