Currently on tour supporting their latest offering Red Wine and Postcards, Women in Docs are Roz Pappalardo and Chanel Lucus. Women in Docs have been regulars on the Australian festival circuit including Woodford, Livid and the Big Day Out. This, combined with years of national and international touring have helped the duo build up a substantial and loyal following. Devotees will surely lap this new disc up, with delicious production highlighting a sumptuous feast of new tracks. Darren Middleton of Powderfinger took up recording and engineering duties as well as adding some extra guitar, keys and vocal duties and the results have paid off handsomely.

Originally hailing from North Queensland, Women in Docs formed in the late 90s then moved base to Brisbane. Their rural origins still embed their country tinged contemporary folk rock. Enclosed within Red Wine and Postcards are lyrics depicting the ordinary day lives of the two songwriters. Tales of life, loss and being are delicately layered across 12 tracks laced with drums, guitars, keys, strings, banjos and harmonicas.

Although comparisons to Indigo Girls will be inevitable there's no doubt the music is distinctly Australian. This is a collection of subtle yet solid songs recorded beautifully. Existing fans will rejoice in this latest package and newcomers who pick the record up will enjoy discovering an already impressive back catalogue.

Red Wine and Postcards is out now and available through MGM.
